Poetry interlude

blood wise, bone keen, wrapped in the arms of the dead

Look to the tales your grandparents told,
of wolves in woods
sleeping virgins
whispering spirits
there is power there
and wisdom to guide you on your way
through all the terrifying places
you may have to walk.
There is light and fire
and the warmth of knowing
iron-scented ash
and the courage to meet the Gods
of our deepest dreaming
in wonder
rather than fear.
