July for Loki

For years now, I’ve done special devotions to Loki in July. sometimes I post something for Him every day, though I’ve not been doing that this year. Instead, I’ve been making offerings and writing a ton of prayers that my household will be using daily, and paying special attention to Sigyn, something I feel pleases Him greatly (and I love Sigyn dearly).

I did sponsor a new prayer card for Him this year, which is now available in my shop, and specifically chose to unleash it this month in honor of it being His month (even though it’s been finished, ready, and waiting for several months now).

The card is by Grace Palmer, who is absolutely awesome. It shows Loki helping Thor to dress in women’s clothing. This is from the Þrymskiviða, where Thor has to do this in order to win back Mjolnir from a giant who had stolen it. I just love the expression on Thor’s face here (for the record, Loki wasn’t the God Who suggested Thor dress up. That was Heimdallr. lol).

Anyway hail Loki and His family, now and always.

  2. I can only imagine the conversation taking place. “I’m only doing it for my hammer and to save Freyja. Everyone stop giggling! This isn’t funny. And there had better be lots of mead at that feast.”

  3. I LOVE this one. The expression on both Their faces 😆. I can’t help but think of Them as the original buddy adventure duo, sometimes.
