My Thought for the Day
“Good” is not a popularity contest.
You are not a good person because people say you are.
You are not a bad person because people say you are.
Goodness and good character exist independently of others. They are interior qualities, traits of the soul, manifest in our actions, developed in the choices we make, the values we hold, consistently and un-movingly, because in the end, when we come before our Gods, they aren’t going to judge us by how much people on the internet liked us, or how many pats on the head we received or didn’t receive. They will judge us on a whole different level. Being “good” in Their eyes is all that should matter.

When someone is properly grounded in life, they shouldn’t have to look outside themselves for approval. — Marcus Aurelius
